As an avid lifelong learner, Josette has gained knowledge and experience in the areas of autism and behavioural science studies; vocational rehabilitation and workplace injuries as a WSIB Case Manager; hospital acute care and long-term care for senior adults and individuals with disabilities; caregiver support group facilitation (including frail elderly and dementia); and stress management.
Josette is the mother of three children who each struggle with ADHD, while her youngest child is on the autism spectrum. This, along with a history of managing the impact of family violence, gives Josette “life experience”, from which she can empathize and understand the various struggles one can have when managing their mental health. She strives to provide a safe and non-judgemental environment and places emphasis on the client-therapist relationship utilizing her natural empathy and compassion.
Josette has a particular interest in supporting adults, care providers, women in life transitions, those struggling with depression, death and grieving, trauma, low self-esteem, and anxiety. To provide the best support, Josette strongly believes that the therapeutic model needs to be tailored to meet the client’s needs. To accomplish this, she will utilize a multi-modal approach, specifically with CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused, and narrative perspectives.
She offers Telehealth services (both telephone and secure video).
