How to Choose a Therapist

The biggest predictor of how much progress you make in therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. It’s important to pick someone you feel comfortable with. Here are some guidelines to help you choose a therapist.

Questions to Consider

  • Do they offer virtual or in-person therapy options?
  • Do they have experience working with the issues I am looking to focus on?
  • Does their schedule align with my availability?
  • What are their fees and are they covered under health insurance?
  • Do I feel comfortable opening up to this person?
