Life, at times, can be challenging and we may be left feeling stuck, alone and unsure about how to move forward. Depression steals your joy and energy leaving you drained and unmotivated to do the things you once loved. Anxiety consumes your mind, it’s overwhelming, and you can’t seem to focus on anything else. The past has entered the present and it’s impacting you and your relationships with loved ones. Your self-esteem is controlled by this inner critic that keeps telling you you’re not good enough. Putting yourself first sounds great but just as you do guilt sets in. So you keep going, continuing to always be there for others, but who is there for you? This is my cue to step in, to offer support and validate your emotions and experiences. You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges and complications on you own. And there is hope that the meaningful life you want to live is within your reach.     
I acknowledge the courage and strength it took for you to make the decision to reach out. Having been a client myself I recognize that opening up and being vulnerable isn’t easy. I will always strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, feel seen and feel heard. Our therapeutic relationship will be of paramount importance as we work toward achieving therapy goals. To facilitate and maintain the therapeutic relationship I will listen without judgment and respond with compassion and empathy while practicing patience— meeting you where you are— on your path of clarity and personal growth.  
I work primarily from a person-centred approach and draw from other therapeutic models such as; Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Strengths based approach— as needed. I also practice from a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens. As a first-generation Canadian I am no stranger to the potential stresses that come with trying to navigate cultures with potentially competing values and differing worldviews. I also recognize the existing stigma around mental health and seeking support— especially in my own community— but I do believe that taking care of our mental health is as important as taking care of our physical health.   
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I obtained my Honours Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto, Mississauga with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. My counselling experience has focused on supporting individuals aged 18 and up with concerns around; self-esteem, relational conflict (familial and romantic), depression, emotion regulation and everyday life stressors. As a helpline volunteer, I supported callers struggling with grief/loss, anxiety, loneliness and low motivation.
